GAM Delivers...No Matter What!

When Harry Beard-Operations Manager, and Lynn Smith-Systems Manager, arrived at GAM on Thursday morning January 15th, they discovered that all the phones were out! Phones were also out at our neighbors including Angstrom Lighting next door.

Harry was concerned that our dealers could not reach us by fax or phone. We immediately sent our sales staff to their homes where they could use their phones to call dealers and let them know about the problem. Shortly thereafter the phone company arrived to inform us that a contractor on the corner was doing some digging and tore out 900 phone lines-and that we would not have any phone service for the rest of the day! Lynn Smith rigged up a cellular phone and had the phone company route calls to the cellular phone. Thanks to quick thinking on the part of the GAM staff, we were able to inform most of our dealers in the U.S. about our phone problem.

Urgent orders were relayed by our sales staff at home to our one open phone line, and we were able to take care of some emergencies. Through fires, storms, earthquakes, mud slides and riots-GAM DELIVERS!
