  • DESIGN LINE, INC., Tampa FL., sold several rolls of GamColor #345 Deep Amber, to Gulf Lighting of St. Petersburg, FL. This was used to color the lights illuminating the newly remodeled Tropicana Dome in St. Pete-home to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball team, and recent host to the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" basketball series. The glowing 'orange' dome can be seen for a radius of several miles, and is a landmark for the downtown St. Petersburg redevelopment area.

  • GAM 2K Scene Machines were supplied by CHICAGO SPOTLIGHT to Grinnell College , and for a production of The Music Man at the Norris Cultural Arts Center in St. Charles, Illinois. LD John Mizanin used the GAM Scene Machine to create a stunning stream/waterfall effect for the bridge scene. The effect brought gasps from the audience and questions about the 'real' water flowing on stage.

  • News from Dean Sternke at MAINSTAGE THEATRICAL SUPPLY, INC. The Pensacola FL office sold a GAM EQS-10 Scene Machine with a Film Machine and 'endless' cloud loop to the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola. The now stationary combat aircraft will once again be seen 'flying' through the clouds.

  • In March, Eric Magnuson, MAGNUM COMPANIES LTD. President, was honored by the Atlanta Chamber of ISES at the annual 'Allie' awards. Eric was presented with the Dale Riggins Humanitarian Award for his contributions to such organizations as CADEF (Child Autism Foundation), The American Cancer Society and the United Way. He also was recognized for his contributions to organizations such as ESTA, USITT and the Georgia Thespians.

  • CHICAGO SPOTLIGHT recently supplied lighting effects for the Ready Fixtures booth at Global Shop '98. Designer Todd Koeppi used four GAM TwinSpin units programmed to rotate the company's logo constantly throughout the show-changing speeds all the while. The TwinSpins were used in tandem with scrollers that constantly rolled through the company's colors. Comments were positive and the effect was just what the client wanted. CHICAGO SPOTLIGHT also supplied 60 1/4CTO GamTubes, specified by John Porter ID for an architectural installation.

  • Gary Thorns, Lighting Director on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" recently used two 2.5K HMI GAM Scene Machines on the show's stint in Chicago. Gary projected effects on the bottom of a drawbridge to give a rippling water look on the set.
