WHAT'S HAPPENING

GAM has received an interesting email in regard to some new uses for GAMWRAP. It seems that Mr. Eric Morrit, a Media Services Technician at Northeast State Technical Community College, is a collector of antique phonographs and disc recording machines. In his search for equipment for his auditorium, he stumbled onto the specifications for the GAMWRAP and decided that it would probably be just the right thickness for recording purposes. And he was right! "I do demonstrations of how the first phonograph worked with it, and it takes the in-dentations well and lasts for several playings." He says. GAMWRAP is more commonly known as BLACK-WRAP, but can be found in either the coated or non-coated versions.

GAM would like to introduce & welcome some of our new dealers:

  • B&H Photo-NYC
  • Karma Productions-NYC
  • Stage Left Theatrical-North Palm Beach, FL.
  • Gemini Stage Lighting - Dallas TX
  • Santa Clarita Studios-Los Angeles
  • Washington Source-Washington D.C.
  • Sterling Ventures-Redondo Beach, CA.
  • ILS - Tulsa, OK.
Here's yet another great way to use the new textures of the GAMFLOOR. Seen here from the new hit show "E Rated" are the Planked Timber # 610 on the floor and the Marble Effect # 620 which is used on the walls. This just goes to show how GAMFLOOR may not necessarily need to be on the floor!

Lighting Designer, Sarah Sidman, used GamColor #167 and GAM breakups of tenement windows for the production of the Musical Memories of 'Quien Mato a Hector Lavoe?' as reported in the Latin American, March 2000 issue of Lighting Dimensions.

In the April issue of "Lighting Dimensions" Magazine, GAM is again featured for it's work with Fisher Marantz Stone and the double ended StarStrobe 3 that was used for the New Years Eve, Times Square Light Ball. GAM was also used in a production of "Dirty Blonde" a play about the career of Mae West as well as a love story between two modern day West fans, by lighting designer Douglas Stein. He used GamColor #170 (Dark Flesh Pink), #245 (Light Red), and #930 (Real Congo Blue) for this production.

For those of you that didn't see the front cover of the April Issue of 'Focus Magazine,' out of Nashville, TN, you missed one of GAM's many patterns being used for a special black tie fund raiser for the Nashville Predators Foundation. "My favorite GAM Pattern is #379, 'Open Foliage'." says Jim Bradfield of Bradfield Stage Lighting out of Nashville. "I like to use it for area washes at parties. It adds a nice texture to the room, while letting through a lot of ambient light." Thanks to Jim for letting us know!
